2024 Finalists announced for the Women in Sport Photo Action Awards
Women Sport Australia (WSA), the national advocacy body for Women in Sport are delighted to announce the finalists for the Women in Sport Photo Action Awards (WISPAA) for 2024.
Over 100 entrants and hundreds of images were submitted for the sixth edition of the awards with the FIFA Women’s World Cup, AFLW and Athletics proving to be the most popular amongst the entries.
“What a joy it was to re-live some of the magic moments from the last year in sport through the lens of some very talented photographers,” said WSA President Helena Dorczak.
“We were looking for photos that showcased the athleticism, strength and skill of women participating in sport, and the finalists selected deliver that in spades.”
There are 15 finalists from the Amateur and Professional categories, with three finalists for the Emerging category.
From Nina Kennedy clearing the dizzying heights of Pole Vault, to Mary Fowler reaching for a header in a match against Denmark, and Liz Clay hurdling her way to Paris, there are an incredible array of images that have made the final round.
The winners will be announced on 30 May, 2024 at the WISPAA Awards and Exhibition Event, to be held at Flex by ISPT Collider in Sydney, Australia.
The WISPAA event with support of ISPT Super Property is open to the public and tickets can be purchased at https://www.womensportaustralia.com.au/wispaa2024/ for $69 inc GST. Sales close COB 23 May 2024.
