Women In Sport Photo Action Awards Function

The Women In Sport Photo Action Awards (WISPAA) Exhibition Launch was held on Thursday 20 June at 50 Lonsdale St, Melbourne.

Over 100 guests of Women Sport Australia (WSA) viewed the exhibition of the 30 finalist images including the winners and runners-up in both the professional and amateur category.

The winning professional image was the iconic image of AFLW player Tayla Harris shot by Michael Willson and it was wonderful to have both in attendance at the event.

It was also wonderful to have the Hon. Richard Colbeck Federal Minister for Sport speak about the importance of the WISPAA competition and to hear from WISPAA creator and WSA Board Director Louise Evans OAM.

Formalities on the evening also included the naming of the People’s Choice Award which was voted by ballot of people passing through the exhibition.

The results for the People’s Choice Awards were as follows:

1st Place: Hang Ten by Richard Morgan
2nd Place: The Bump by Olivier Rachon
3rd Place: The Kick by Michael Willson

A huge thank you to our WISPAA partners who have made the competition and exhibition happen: Change Our Game, Victorian State Government, Epson, AAP, Nikon, IAAF, 50 Lonsdale St and MMR.

The Women In Sport Photo Action Awards Exhibition runs at 50 Lonsdale St until the Friday 28 June.
