WATCH THE WEBINAR

The webinar reviews the top 15 images in each of the amateur and professional categories and examines the impact of the WISPAA competition on raising the profile of women in sport in Australia.

Multi-award winning journalist and author Sam Lane moderated the event as MC. Sam was one of the judges of the 2020 WISPAA competition. She facilitated a panel discussion featuring:

– Getty Sports chief photographer and 2020 WISPAA judge Ryan Pierse;

– 2020 WISPAA professional winner Michael Willson (also the winner of the 2019 WISPAA professional award);

– 2020 WISPAA amateur winner Casey Sims; and

– Deputy Chair of Women Sport Australia, Gen Simmons.

The WISPAAs were inaugurated in 2019 as a photographic competition to generate greater recognition and respect for the skill, strength and athleticism of Australian women actively participating in sport.

In 2020 the WISPAAs saw further growth from last year’s successful first edition. In total there were 372 images submitted by 160 photographers, which is 88 more images and 52 more photographers than last year.

The 2020 WISPAA competition is proudly supported by prize sponsor Quality Mind Global www.qualitymindglobal.com.

The event was supported by ISPT to recognise Australian sportswomen.
