Women in Sport breakfast.

The Women in Sport Breakfast is Australia's biggest celebratory event championing equity for women and girls.

This year's event will take place on Friday 9 October at Centrepiece Melbourne.

Advocacy to Action: Policy. Investment. Power.

We have the chance to build a model for women’s sport that’s sustainable, commercially strong, and distinctly its own.

It shouldn’t follow a blueprint from the past — it should draw on its unique strengths, values, and connection to community.

Women’s sport is its own story — and it’s changing the way society sees leadership and equity.

That’s why these new players like fashion and lifestyle brands are investing — they see the authenticity and connection that women’s sport inspires.

If we build it differently, we won’t just grow audiences; we’ll redefine how sport connects with the world.

"You can make a difference — whether it’s turning on the TV and watching a game, buying a membership, creating safe environments for girls in junior sport, hiring the next female CEO, or paying an athlete what she’s worth based on her skill, not her gender." - WSA President Chantella Perera

In 2025, we were delighted to welcome Sarah Styles, former Director for the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation, David Culbert, dual Olympian and sports broadcaster, Victoria Denholm, CEO and Director of Wollemi Capital Group, and Tayla Vlaeminck, Australian Cricketer. The panel was facilitated by Rana Hussain, founder of Good. Human.

We'll also welcomed Mackenzie Little, resident Doctor and Olympic Javelin thrower, and Rachel Howard, General Manager of adidas Pacific for a special fireside chat, hosted by Sam D'Souza.

Past Events

The 2024 event, sponsored by Victoria University, was held at Centrepiece at Olympic Park for the first time in its history.

The new venue was a stunning backdrop amongst the sporting precinct in Melbourne. Our theme ‘Women’s stories hit differently’ saw an array of talent take the stage including dual Olympian Jemima Montag, Paralympian Emily Petricola, radio personality Jo Stanley, sports journalist Sarah Burt, President of Athletics Australia Jane Flemming and Victoria University researcher Clare Hanlon.

The annual event which saw over 500 guests celebrated the year that has been for women in sport. WSA launched its new strategic initiatives for 2025-2028 and celebrated outgoing Directors Iain Roy, Demelza Fellowes and Isaak Dury.
