Vacant Director Position

The Board (which is the management committee) of WSA can comprise up to 8 directors (who are the management committee members) elected by the members of WSA and up to three independent directors elected by the Board. 

WSA is currently seeking a new director to fill a casual vacancy following the resignation of a Board member. The WSA Board is a hands-on and operational Board and directors are expected to commit at least 20 hours per month on WSA business, including attending (in person or via a web meeting) a board meeting every 6 weeks. Directors will also be asked to participate in one or more of the initiatives to realise our goals.

To complement the existing skill set within the Board, candidates are sought in the areas of:

·         Demonstrated Fundraising experience – the ability to connect with and provide a compelling story to potential donors

·         Sponsorship Generation

·         Marketing (Campaign Management, Brand Management)

Ideally nominees will also have a strong connection to the Australian sporting community and experience on committees or boards of an advocacy or membership organisation.

 
All candidates must be:
1. either a financial member of WSA or nominated by a financial member of WSA, and
2. seconded by a financial member of WSA.
